Were you seeing a guy and starting to really like him, only for him to suddenly stop responding to your messages? It may have taken you a while to figure out that you’d been ghosted if there were no warning signs prior. You may have been speculating about the reasons as to why he ghosted you but soon found out that he’s already dating someone else. You might be thinking to yourself “he ghosted me for another girl, what can I do?”

Why it really sucks if you’ve been ghosted for another girl

If you had been dating this guy for long enough to get emotionally involved, you may feel hurt and betrayed. Ghosting is a harsh way of ending a relationship that seemed to be going fine. It can leave one with all kinds of questions about the relationship and make it very difficult to gain closure. If you realize that you’ve been ghosted for another girl, you may then wonder if he had feelings for you at all. You may even feel foolish for trusting him.

Here are 5 things to remember if you’ve been ghosted for another girl

1. He did not like you that much

It’s important to realize that any guy that ghosts you for another girl clearly did not like you that much. Sure, you may have had good times together while you were dating. He may have even said things to you that led you to believe he was really into you. However, any man that leaves you for another woman is doing so because he is more attracted to the other girl than he is to you.

There is zero point in spending time wondering about how he could ghost you and whether you should have seen it coming. Unfortunately, being ghosted for another girl can happen to anyone. Even if you are a great judge of character and genuinely felt he was trustworthy, sometimes you simply cannot predict how other people will behave. This guy did not value you and is not worthy of your time.

2. The relationship between you was not meant to be

It can be really hard to get over being ghosted for another girl. However, it’s clear that the two of you are incompatible if he was able to treat you so badly. His actions make it obvious that he was not feeling the relationship and did not have strong feelings for you. Instead of breaking up with you in a mature, decent way, he ghosted you. This shows that he was not bothered to communicate with you in a respectful way, nor did he care about how breaking up would affect you.

The fact that he did not want to be with you and behaved selfishly by ghosting you is evidence that the two of you are incompatible. Whether or not he had feelings for this other girl during the course of your relationship does not matter. Even though you may be upset that the relationship is over and he is with another girl, you are far better off without him. He is not the right guy for you and you don’t need him in your life.

3. Try not to let being ghosted for another girl affect your self-esteem

If being ghosted for another girl has affected your self-esteem, please remember that what happened is no reflection of you. Just because this guy had feelings for someone else and heartlessly ghosted you, it does not mean that you are anything less than your usual fabulous self. Avoid comparing yourself to the other girl. Who cares why he likes her? His actions show that he didn’t appreciate what you had to offer, but that’s fine because someone else will. It’s his loss.

4. You deserve far, far better

Remember that you deserve a guy who truly loves you and genuinely cares. Someone who values and respects you. The guy who ghosted you for another girl is not good enough for you. Putting it simply, there’s no way he would have ever made you happy in the long-run if he was able to ditch you like that.

The right guy will love spending his time with you and go out of his way to make you happy. You deserve nothing less than someone who treasures you and is certain about being with you. You don’t need anyone who treats you as second best or is on the lookout for another girl. Being with the right guy will make you feel happy, loved and valued for who you are.

5. He’s not thinking about you, don’t waste time thinking of him

Remember that this guy is only thinking about himself and doing whatever pleases him. He is not thinking about you, nor does he care about your well-being. Try your best to stop thinking about him as there’s nothing to be gained. Instead focus on yourself and the future. Put it this way, you’re no longer with a guy who turned out to be someone different to who you thought he was. You no longer need to take him into consideration and can focus on yourself.

Take the time you need to get over the relationship. Surround yourself with people who are close to you and genuinely care. Do things that make you happy e.g. hobbies or social activities to take your mind off what happened. Whatever he is doing now does not matter and should not affect you. If you still have him as a friend on your social media accounts, it may be annoying to see his posts on your newsfeeds. Deleting him may make it easier for you to stop thinking about him.
